Laughton Glacier, Skagway, Alaska 10″ x 8″

A short train ride on the White Pass railway takes you to Glacier Station and the trailhead to Laughton Glacier. From here it is a two-mile hike through old growth forest, leading up to a glacial moraine and stunning open views of the glacier itself. Fireweed somehow manages to take root along the edge of the ever-changing river bed channel.
