The Chilkoot Trail
The Chilkoot Trail was a historic trading route for the Tlingit people of the Northwest Coast. During the gold rush of 1898, over 30,000 stampeders travelled over this trail en-route to the Klondike Goldfields. The trail has a diverse collection of flora and fauna and is now a popular hiking route during the summer months as hikers retrace the steps from Coastal Rainforest of Dyea, Alaska, USA to the rocky alpine and then into the boreal forest in Northern BC, Canada. The US Botanic Garden in Washington, DC, selected two of Stephanie’s paintings for an exhibition of art showcasing the beauty of National Parks.
