Second Canyon on the Snake River, Yukon 7″ x 5″

The bank was a beach of lime green soft mossy mounds, scattered with small aspen.  The river pushed right, past the shadowed canyon wall and veered in an s- pattern, back to the left and finally out into the open again, giving us another view of those beautiful Painted Mountains.  Only Day 1 on the river and there is so much to take in. The red shades in this painting were inspired by those gorgeous colourful stones that filled the riverbed.
